Darkest Place Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
I'm in the darkest place I think I've ever been
You can see from the scars on my face
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
All alone, why have you forsaken me?
All alone, you make it hard to believeI'm in the darkest place
And I don't just mean this jail
In my mind there's a darkest space
Trapped in an even darker cellYou got to see it to believe it's true
That's why it's so hard to believe in you
Stay real, but you got to have faith

But I wondered where you were when I needed youWhen that girl was telling lies in the court
With her hand on the bible, where was the lightning?
The great vengeance, furious anger that Samuel
L.J. made sound so frighteningShe attempted to poison a brother
And I mean it in a biblical sense, not a black way
She succeeded to destroy that brother
It's deep, you can make a fool battle out of laughingShe just did it for the money for the cash, eh?
I bet she's rolling in it now she's famous
You must think that's fair considering
I got to deal with man who want to feel a new anusSo you save up a months worth of fags
And trade them for a shank along with your trainers
And you take a man's life with your make-shift
Knife 'cause this isn't you, messed up your brain isI'm in the darkest place I think I've ever been
You can see from the scars on my face
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
All alone, why have you forsaken me?
All alone, you make it hard to believeAre you real or a myth?
Is there a heaven or just an abyss?
Sometimes I wonder if you even exist
'Cause if you do then you're taking the pissI don't deserve this, why are you torturing me, God?
We both know something ain't right here
It's been two whole months
Since I killed that man and I'm still having nightmaresIt was just self defense
But try telling that to my conscience
My head's in a real bad way
But even when I tell you, you ignore me like it's nonsenseI was being attacked on a daily basis
I had to do something
And it weren't like you were going to intervene
At any point 'cause you never do nothingJust I thought you'd sent me an angel
When the second man tried put the first cut in
And got stabbed instead, but now I know
That was just in my head, not the hole that I'm stuck in'Cause if he really was an angel you sent
He wouldn't be trapped in this jail with me
Spread out his wings and fly
Get out of this hell hole quicklyThat's how I know you're a fake
That's how I know you're a lie
That's how I know you're a made-up
Fictional character that lives in the skyYeah, it's all just a con
It's all just a scam
God ain't real
It's just a shamI'm in the darkest place
You can see from the scars on my face
Ooh, yeahI'm in the darkest place I think I've ever been
You can see from the scars on my face
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
All alone, why have you forsaken me?
All alone, you make it hard to believeI'm in the darkest place I think I've ever been
You can see from the scars on my face
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
All alone, why have you forsaken me?
All alone

1.) Plan B (real name Ben Drew, b. 1983) is a rapper from Forest Gate, London. From the age of 11 he attended Anglo European School in Ingatestone Essex, before transfering to Tom Hood, an inner-city comprehensive. He has described his character, in these school days, as "a bit of a cunt". He is signed to 679 Recordings, home to UK rap act The Streets. His unique sound is characterised by his use of acoustic beats and lyrics involving drugs, rape, murder and underage sex. He was placed fourth in the BBC's "Sound of 2006" competition.

His second album was released in April 2010; The Defamation of Strickland Banks was released on 12 April 2010. The album is a departure from the sound heard on Plan B's debut album Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, with the rapper's sophomore effort showcasing much more of his singing ability. Lyrically the album's songs tell the fictitious tale of one Strickland Banks, a sharp-suited British soul singer who finds fame with bitter-sweet love songs like the album's opener "Love Goes Down", but then loses everything when he ends up in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

The album was a great success, reaching #1 in the UK album charts, and three singles from the album reached the top 20 of the UK singles charts, with 'Stay Too Long' reaching #9 and 'She Said' reaching #3.

The Ill Manors Songfacts reports that on March 23, 2012 Plan B released “Ill Manors,” the title track of the soundtrack to the British film of the same title, which he wrote and directed.

(1991) which was produced by Pat Collier. In Germany the predecessor "The Greenhouse Effect" (1989) was much more popular ("Beam me up Scotty, this planet sucks!").
