Day By Day (2002 Remastered Version) Lyrics

Day by day, look what the papers say
Day by day, look what the papers say
Stranded in the jungle, trapped inside the tube
Hate your next door neighbor 'cos he's got more than youGoing round and round, day by day
On the circle line, day by dayDay by day, well, it's all work no play
Day by day, well, it's all work no play
Living for inflation, I know I never win
Just to earn a living they keep me locked inDay by day, well, who cares anyway
Day by day, well, who cares anyway
I feel like a robot on the production line
Ain't got no tomorrow on the circle line

The core members of Generation X, a seminal British punk rock band with heavy new wave and power pop influences, were singer-songwriter Billy Idol (who has since maintained a remarkable 30+ year solo career) and bassist Tony James (later of Sigue Sigue Sputnik and for a spell Sisters of Mercy before settling in Carbon/Silicon). Generation X was formed in 1976 after guitarist Billy Idol (a.k.a William Broad) and bassist Tony James decided to go out on their own, leaving Gene October, the leader of their then band Chelsea.
