Dead Ringer for Love Lyrics

Every night I grab some money
And I go down to the bar
I got my buddies and a beer
I got a dream, I need a carYou got me begging on my knees
C'mon and throw the dog a bone
A man, he doesn't live by
Rock 'n' Roll and brew aloneBaby, baby
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
They don't mean a thing
When I compare 'em next to youRock 'n' Roll and brew
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
I know that you and I
We got better things to doBut don't know who you are? What you do?
Where you go? When you're not around
I don't know anything about you, baby
But you're everything I'm dreaming of
I don't know who you are

But you're a real dead ringer for love
A real dead ringer for loveEver since I can remember
You've been hanging around this joint
You've been trying to look away
But now you finally got the pointI don't have to know your name
And I won't tell you what to do
But a girl, she doesn't live by only
Rock 'n' Roll and brewBaby, baby, baby, baby
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
They don't mean a thing
When I compare 'em next to youRock 'n' Roll and brew
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
I know that you and I
We got better things to doI don't know who you are? What you do?
Where you go? When you're not around
I don't know anything about you, baby
But you're everything I'm dreaming of
I don't know who you are
But you're a real dead ringer for love
A real dead ringer for loveOoh, you got the kind of legs
That do more than walk
I don't have to listen
To your whimpering talkListen, you got the kind of eyes
That do more than see
You gotta lot of nerve
Come on to meYou got the kind of lips
That do more than drink
You got the kind of mind
That does less than thinkBut since I'm feeling kinda lonely
And my defenses are low
Why don't we give it shot?
And get ready to goI'm looking for anonymous
And fleeting satisfaction
I want to tell my daddy
I'll be missing in actionEver since I can remember
I've been hanging around this joint
My daddy never noticed it
Now he finally got the pointYou got me beggin' on my knees
C'mon and throw the dog a bone
A man he doesn't live by
Rock 'n' Roll and brew aloneBaby, baby, baby, baby
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
Rock 'n' Roll and brew
I know that you and I
We got better things to doRock 'n' roll and brew
Rock 'n' roll and brew
They don't mean a thing
When I compare 'em next to youI don't know who you are? Or what you do?
Or where you go? When you're not around
I don't know anything about you, baby
But you're everything I'm dreaming of
I don't know who you are
But you're a real dead ringer for love
A real dead ringer for loveDead ringer for love
Dead ringer for love
Dead ringer for love

Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actor and rock and roll performer who came to fame with his album Bat Out of Hell and for his movie performances, including Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club and Jack Black's father in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

The All Of Me Songfacts reports that Meat Loaf described his 12th studio album, Hell in a Handbasket, to Billboard as, "the most personal record I've ever made.” He added: “It's about how I feel the world's gone to hell in a handbasket. It's really the first record that I've ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what's going on at the moment." The LP was released September 30, 2011 in Australia, followed by a release in February and March 2012 worldwide.

Meat Loaf has had a very successful music career spawning some of the greatest selling albums of all time and breaking various records. Although he enjoyed success with Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell Trilogy, he experienced some initial difficulty establishing a steady career within the United States; however, he is considered a legend in the UK and across Europe. In the UK, he is ranked 23rd for number of weeks in the charts overall. Due to his anthemic songs and a performance for Radio Veronica in the Netherlands, he stormed up their Top 100 of all times making a top 10 spot 6 years in a row. He ranks at 96th on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of hard rock." His overall success in Europe and Australia has been exceptional and he is considered one of the top artists of all time.
