Defend You Lyrics

I'll write it down
Where you can see
Why I've gone to sleepTry to relate, can't give in to your temptations
All your hopes and dreams we'll take away
So that I forget everything you've taught me
When I looked up to youFall to your knees
And give up your aspirations
Fall in to your kneesSo how can you expect me to just close my eyes
And forget your mistakes
Defending you is getting harder everyday, dayI'm breaking down, behind this fear
If I don't go to my addiction
Make it through yourselfTry to relate, forget everything you've taught me
When I looked up to youSo how can you expect me to just close my eyes
And forget your mistakes
Defending you is getting harder everyday, dayI look inside myself for strength like a million times before
You'll never let it in because
I know you said, I know you said
I know, I know, I know, I knowFall, I'll show you where this goes

How can you live this way?
I'll never forget where I come from, where I've been
I'll never forget youSo how can you expect me to just close my eyes
And forget your mistakes
Defending you is getting harder everyday, daySo how can you expect me to just close my eyes
And forget your mistakes
Defending you is getting harder everyday, day
You've lost it all

Silverstein is a 5-piece rock band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada; formed in 2000. The band name was taken from the famous children's author Shel Silverstein. After several lineup changes, the band acquired Billy Hamilton, a local fan who learned of the band's need for a bassist on the Internet message board "The 905 Board" (an Ontario area outreach board which used to be for local musicians). In Christmas of 2001, he joined the band after Shane Told helped him learn the music for the songs. Following a rehearsal on Boxing Day (December 26) in 2001, he officially debuted with Silverstein.
