Defiance Lyrics

Ready to defy, ready to resist
Open up these walls built to keep you out
Going stronger with every struggle
Like a wave crashing into the shore each time
Can't be stopped with your emotion
As we repossess the ocean
Still my walls stand highI can feel these walls, feel them closing in
(But I'm) but I'm not falling apart again
(I still hear) I can hear their words, still won't let them in
('Cause I'm), 'cause I'm not falling apart againI'm not falling apart again, I'm not falling apartReady to contend, ready to withstand
Open up these walls built to keep you out
Nothing you say can make me give up
I'm persistent like a river cuts through a rock
Keeping crushing I won't give in
I'm as steadfast as I've always been
Still the walls stand highI can feel these walls, feel them closing in
(But I'm) but I'm not falling apart again
(I still hear) I can hear their words, still won't let them in

('Cause I'm), 'cause I'm not falling apart againI, judge of my faith, I can't live on like this
I'll never give in
judge of my faith, I will never appease (I'll never give in)
I'll never give inStill the walls stand high
I can feel these walls, feel them closing in
(But I'm) but I'm not falling apart again
(I still hear) I can hear their words, still won't let them in
('Cause I'm), 'cause I'm not falling apart againI'm not falling apart again, I'm not falling apartI, judge of my faith, I can't live on like this
I'll never give in
judge of my faith, I will never appease (I'll never give in)

We Came As Romans is a post hardcore band formed in 2005. Hailing from Troy, Michigan, We Came As Romans are pushing the envelope, combining influences such as the intertwined singing/screaming vocals of Underoath, the theatrical, orchestra-infused metal of Chiodos, the crushing breakdowns of The Devil Wears Prada and the positive lyrics of August Burns Red on their debut Equal Vision release, To Plant a Seed. Their second album, Understanding What We've Grown to Be, released in September 2011 featured a darker tone than their previous album while still maintaining the band's overall theme of positivity and brotherhood.

Signed to Equal Vision Records (announced April 16th) after being named Alternative Press’ “Best Unsigned Band” early 2009.

Members:
Dave Stephens – Vocals
Kyle Pavone – Vocals/Synth
Joshua Moore - Guitar
Lou Cotton – Guitar
