Delph Town Morn Lyrics

Sitting here, me and Chris's son
We've got a story to strike you down
About a girl with the light in her eyes
Black on the night, drive on the day
Let the wheels run dry
Sitting here, waiting for the sun
Little darling, for you to come
By the light of the moon flashing by
Black on the night, drive on the day
Let the wheels run dryFly on by silver bird in the sky
Fly on day, black all night, roll on by
Bring on the sunshine shine in her eyes
Fly on by silver birdSitting here in the early grey
Of a Delph town morning, we sit and pray
For a sight of the light in her eyes
Black on the night, drive on the day
Let the wheels run dryFly on by silver bird in the sky
Fly on day, black all night, roll on by

Bring on the sunshine shine in her eyes
Fly on by silver bird in the sky
Fly on day, black all night, roll on by
Bring on the sunshine shine in her eyes
Fly on by silver bird in the sky

Barclay James Harvest are an English progressive rock band. They were founded in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, in September 1966 by John Lees, Les Holroyd, Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme (1947–2010), and Mel Pritchard (1948–2004). They are best-known for their first four albums released in quick succession from 1970-1972. The Barclay James Harvest story begins in the early sixties in the Oldham area of North-West England. John Lees and Stuart “Woolly” Wolstenholme met at Oldham Art School, and formed a band called The Sorcerers, which evolved into The Keepers.
