Destroyer of the Universe Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
I rise up from Muspelheim
My fury is sublime
The sword I bring burns violently
With wild and lethal flamesI march against the Asa gods
To bring the end of time
I am pure and endless pain
And Surtur is my nameSee me rise, the mighty Surt
Destroyer of the universe
Bringer of flames and endless hurt
Scorcher of men and earthSee me rise, the mighty Surt

Destroyer of the universe
Bringer of flames and endless hurt
Scorcher of men and earthSwordless Frej with horn in hand
Rises to his final stand
He doesn't stand a single chance
I'll split his living corpse in halfAnd yet he stabbed me in the eye
He drove the horn in deep
The overwhelming, raging pain
Is driving me insaneThe waves of flames that I've unleashed
Will eat us all alive
The rage that burns within my hearth
Is uncontrolled and wildAnd now everything shall dieMassive waves consume us all
The ocean is released
Our dying world quakes underneath
And sinks into the seaAnd now nothing will surviveExtinction waits for everyone
For Gods and men alike
When all are gone of the old world
A new one will ariseSee me rise, the mighty Surt
Destroyer of the universe
Bringer of flames and endless hurt
Scorcher of men and earthSee me rise, the mighty Surt
Destroyer of the universe
Bringer of flames and endless hurt
Scorcher of men and earthSee me die, the mighty Surt
Destroyer of the universe
Drowning in waves that floods the earth
The beginning of a new rebirthSee me die, the mighty Surt
Destroyer of the universe
Drowning in waves that floods the earth
The beginning of a new rebirth

Deeply rooted in melodic death metal with lyrics centered around Viking history and Norse mythology, Amon Amarth (formerly known as Scum) was formed, with the arrival of Johan Hegg as the new vocalist, in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden, a southern suburb of Stockholm. They began writing material with lots of melodies, harmonies and lyrics about Vikings and the norse Pantheon. In summer 1993 they entered Lagret Studio to record the Thor Arise demo, which would later on appear on the bonus disc of the album Versus The World.
