Detroit Lyrics

i didnt know what time it was until the sun went down
detroit mild on the bus downtown last i was fighting on the street
but tonight i have a girl next to me in this cold world she brings me heat
i got a good feeling in a bad city tonight i gotta goood feeling
everything's gonna be alright some run some fight
detained in illegal custody spent the night in jail with a
drunken priest and a hooker $500 bail nobody knew who
was who standing in the street like that i hit the ground
to make a sound -chours- bus droped me off and i had to cough
i couldnt breath 'cause i got ripped off i couldnt realise
by being satisfied 'cause it runs so thin and thats why
im pissed off we had no money we had time she had the
champagne i had the cisco wine she said do you want to come
you better hurry because we'll have hell to pay

Rancid is a punk rock band which formed in Berkeley, California, United States in 1991. The band consists of Tim "Lint" Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Lars Frederiksen (guitar), Matt Freeman (bass) and Brendan Stieneckert (drums). The band has released seven albums: "Rancid" (1993), "Let's Go" (1994), "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995), "Life Won't Wait" (1998), "Rancid" (2000), "Indestructible" (2003) and "Let the Dominoes Fall" (2009). The band originally consisted of Armstrong, Freeman (both former members of Operation Ivy) and drummer Brett Reed, with Frederiksen joining in 1993. Reed left in 2006 and was replaced by Stieneckert.

To date, Rancid has released seven studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has independently sold over four million records worldwide,[4] making it one of the most successful independent punk groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone. Its next four albums, Life Won't Wait, Rancid, Indestructible and Let the Dominoes Fall, were also critically acclaimed, though not as successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves. Rancid is currently working on an eighth studio album, which is said to be recorded in September 2011, and expected to be released in 2012.
