Devil On My Side (Album Version) Lyrics

There's beauty inside - there is beauty inside
The darkest of nights - the black and red lights
This spring has been frozen - the gods have been chosen
They dance in their bloodYour life has been sold - your life has been sold
For your face looks so old - how your face grew so old
Near the city of broken hearts - to the city of broken hearts
But we all fell apart - how we all fell apartWe drive with the devil on our side
We drink the land - it tastes like wine
I never said my love was true
I put that in the hands of youCommunication, no communication - just sex and frustration
You're killing, you're killing, you're killing, you're killing
You're a killer kid, you are a killer kid
But you did what you did - oh you did what you didWe drive with the devil on our side
We drink the land - it tastes like wine
I never said my love was true
I put that in the hands of youThere's beauty inside - there is beauty inside
The darkest of nights - the black and red lights
At the tip of your head - it's black and it's redHow does it feel to be dead? (4x)

I know how it feels to be dead (7x)

The Anniversary was an indie rock band formed in 1997 in Lawrence, Kansas. The band released two full length albums: "Your Majesty and "Designing a Nervous Breakdown" as well as a number of splits. Originally a group of high school friends, Matthew Pryor of The Get Up Kids approached them about recording an album. Designing a Nervous Breakdown was the result. The band broke up on February 6, 2004 despite having a number of songs ready for a third album. Three of the members joined together to form the band The Only Children, taking a few of the completed songs along with them.
