Different Kind of Cowboy Lyrics

Yall listen hereI aint never lived in Texas
Rode across no dusty plain
I aint drank water from no cactus
Been inclined to rob a trainIm a different kind of cowboy
Tumble weed out in the wind
In this Carolina country boys heart
The lone ranger rides againI aint too forward with the ladies
Flash a smile and tip my hat
But Ive been findin out here lately
Theres still a few thing to thatYeah, Im a different kind of cowboy
Tumble weed out in the wind
In this Carolina country boys heart
The lone ranger rides againYeah, I got a hundred horses
Couple sprockets and a chain
Love the sound of chrome
Pipes rumbling, the smell of gasolineIm gonna ride off in that sunset
Yellin' yippee ki-yay, yippee ki-yayYeah, Im a different kind of cowboy
Tumble weed out in the wind

Yeah, in this Carolina country boys heart
The lone ranger rides again and againHi, ho, silver
Lone, lone

Ray Scott refers to two musicians. One is a contemporary country musician. The other was a rockabilly star from Indiana who produced classic rockabilly music in the 1950's, often with his band, the Demens or his other band, the Four Recorders. Ray Scott (Henry Raymond Scott) died in 1999. The contemporary Ray Scott grew up outside of Semora, North Carolina. He was influenced by the farming community around him and by the country outlaw movement (Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson).
