Dirt Road Lyrics

Daddy worked hard for his dollar
He said some folks don't but that's okay
Well, they won't know which road to follow
Because an easy street might lead you astrayI'll take the dirt road it's all I know
I've been walking it for years
It's gone where I need to goOh, it ain't easy, it ain't supposed to be
So I'll take my time and life won't pass me by
'Cause it's right there to find, on the dirt roadI have lived life in the fast lane
You gotta watch your back and look both ways
When it's said and done the time we have is borrowed
You better make real sure you're headed the right wayI'll take the dirt road it's all I know
I've been walking it for years
It's gone where I need to goOh, it ain't easy, it ain't supposed to be
So I'll take my time and life won't pass me by
'Cause it's right there to findI'll take the dirt road it's all I know
I've been walking it for years
It's gone where I need to goOh, it ain't easy, it ain't supposed to be
So I'll take my time and life won't pass me by

'Cause it's right there to find, on the dirt roadOn the dirt road

Sawyer Brown is a country music band formed in 1981 at a Pizza Hut restaurant in Apopka, Florida. Lead singer Mark Miller asked keyboardist Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard to play piano for a couple of songs he had written. The two left for Nashville, Tennessee, where they met up with Florida drummer Joe Smyth, Michigan bass player Jim Scholten and original lead guitarist Bobby Randall. They first called the band "Savanah", but renamed themselves "Sawyer Brown" after Sawyer Brown Road, the street where they rehearsed.
