so grab me a glass and poor it up fast, and dont forget the pass pimpin the blunt
i can hide your ass to be passed if u dont stay close to the front
im simply playin with a harmful brain ill kick off my shoes and relax my feet
then put on some sounds. smoke on a pound listin to a three six mafia beat
got a cup in my hand and blunt in my mouth, im straight as a mafucker now
with a masterplan that will change the land, and oya im from the dirty south

At the age of eight Lanshaw discovered his rapping talent as he could rap Sir Mix-a-Lot's entire song "Baby Got Back" without missing a word. He started participating in freestyle battles at high school when he was in ninth grade. Lanshaw rapped with his friend "Lil Black", who inspired him to use a pseudonym Lil Wyte and write songs instead of freestyling.

Lanshaw dropped out of high school twice due to truancy. After the third time of dropping out, he went to a different school and eventually earned his high school diploma.

Lil Wyte appeared on Project Pat's song "Crash da Club" from his album Layin' da Smack Down in 2002.

Wyte was a member of an all-white hip hop group, Shelby Forest Click, when he first came to the attention of Three 6 Mafia. Juicy J and DJ Paul signed the rapper after the group's disbanding and worked later with his debut album.

Lil Wyte's debut album Doubt Me Now was released in 2003 and it became an underground hit among fans, selling over 135,000 copies without any promotion. Lil Wyte signed a record deal with Asylum Records and recorded second album Phinally Phamous. It was released in October 2004 and sold nearly 200,000 copies.

His style was described as quick-rapping, "machine gun-like delivery". Lil Wyte described his style: "I've always felt like I was a pretty complex rapper to be from the South - I feel like I put a lot into my music."

After three years of touring, promoting and recording his third studio album The One and Only was released in 2007.

Lil Wyte's fourth album "The Bad Influence" debuted at number 104 on the U.S. Billboard 200

Lil Wyte's single "Fucked Up" appears in Season 1, Episode 4 of Eastbound & Down.
