Do You Love Me Lyrics

We were young, twenty one
All those years ago
In came the fascination
Everything was outta controlAlive, untried
From thickets and from thorns
Out came a revelation
Everything is outta controlDo you feel it
Do you feel it now?
'Cause we want it
But we don't know how
Do we have it
As much as anybody ever has?I wanna wake you from your dream
I wanna know who you're talking to
When your singin' in your sleep
I wanna find out what it means
Do you love me?Now we're fine, alright
But all those days are gone
We read our constellations

Everything is under controlAre you tired, I'm tired
The TV sparks and glows
The newsman gives information
Everything is under controlDo you feel it
Do you feel it now?
'Cause we want it
But we don't know how
Do we have it
As much as anybody ever has?I wanna wake you from your dream
I wanna know who you're talking to
When your singin' in your sleep
I wanna find out what it means
Do you love me?I got marbles in my mouth
Thousand words I wanna say
But it's impossible to spit 'em out
I can barely make a sound
Do you love me?

During the middle of the 1970s Johnny Clarke stood at a Crossroads of Jamaican music, and was the point about which Reggae music turned during the "Golden Era" of '70s Roots Reggae. Briefly there was no more popular act than he in Jamaica, and this in a country where popularity is exceptionally hard won. He was nominated best vocalist five times in his own country, an indication of the love Jamaicans have for his voice and music.
