Doin' the Shout Lyrics

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, heyI'm doin' the shout
I'm gonna do the shout
I'm gonna do the shout
I'm gonna do the shoutGot a letter this mornin'
Got a letter from my baby
She was on her way
On her way homeSay, when I get home
Say, with me and my baby
We're gonna do the shout
Gonna lock up the door
And keep down the windowIf anybody call
Said, he not at home
If the telephone ring
We're not at homeWe're doin' the shout
We're doin' the shout
We're doin' the shout
Just me an' my baby

Just me an' my babyHey, hey, hey, hey
Gonna shout all day
Gonna shout all night
Just me an' my baby
Gonna doin' the shoutShout, baby, shout, baby
Shout, baby, shout, babyHey, hey, alrightMe an' my baby
We're doin' the shout
We're doin' the shoutI was so glad, I was so glad
She, my baby back home
She, my baby back homeI'm so glad
She, my baby back home
Shout baby, shout baby
Shout baby, shout baby
Shout baby, hey, hey

John Lee Hooker (Coahoma County, Mississippi, August 22, 1917 – Los Altos, California, June 21, 2001) was a highly influential American blues singer, guitarist and songwriter. John Lee Hooker could be said to embody his own unique genre of the blues, often incorporating the boogie-woogie piano style and a driving rhythm into his masterful and idiosyncratic blues guitar and singing. His best known songs include "Boogie Chillen" (1948) and "Boom Boom" (1962).
