Dolores Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Dolores was her middle name
She read the book and everything
Now I know how old I am
Have you ever seen that film?Talking to a hotel mirror with my glasses off
Now you know just what he's crying aboutDolores was her middle name
Dangling from a silver chain
Where'd you learn to talk that way?
I look like James Mason's ghostTalking to a friend after school but you don't see
That she's really looking right at me, yeah, yeah, yeahDolores was her middle name
And now her mother's wondering

If I could see my wrinkled face
Paint her lovely toenails redWriting all my problems in a secret little book
Now I know just what he should've done
Talking to me like I'm just a little late
Now you know just what he's talking aboutDolores was her middle nameDolores was her middle name

Freedy Johnston (born 1961) is a New York City-based singer-songwriter originally from Kinsley, Kansas. Johnston's first album, "The Trouble Tree" was released in 1990, and features the guitar playing of the roots musician and author, David Hamburger. Johnston sold some of his family's farmland to finance the recording of his second album, Can You Fly (an event he wrote about in a song on that album, "Trying to Tell You I Don't Know").
