Don't Call Me Baby Lyrics

Don't call me baby
When she is waitin' in the car
It took so long to get this far
Don't call me babyYou said forever
And then you went and changed your plans
You said that someday I would understand
But I still wonderI wonder why we are not walkin'
And fightin' and asking for favors
Meetin' at midnight
While avoidin' all the neighborsTime is a distance that you can't retract by miles
If I saw you again I'd smile
But I'd say
Don't call me babyWhen she is waitin' in the car
It took so long to get this far
Don't call me babyI think, she's pretty
And I think that you have done quite well
I still say, you can never tell
I wouldn't be surprisedYou'll never know, we could be walkin'

And fightin' and asking for favors
Meetin' at midnight
While avoidin' all the neighborsTime is a distance that you can't retract by miles
If I saw you again, I'd smile
But I'd say
Don't call me babyWhen we were not the way we are
It took so long to get this far
Don't call me babySometimes I'm down
I think I see you
But I don't say a word
Because there is somebody newIt's too late to matter
But no such thing is true
You're in the shadows
'Til you left me in the darkDon't call me
Don't call me
Don't call meDon't call me baby
Don't call me baby
Don't call me baby
Don't call me babyBaby
Don't call me baby
Don't call me baby
Baby

Voice of the Beehive are an Anglo-American college radio/alternative pop band, formed in London in 1987 by Californian sisters Tracey Bryn Belland and Melissa Brooke Belland, daughters of Bruce Belland of The Four Preps. When the sisters first sang together they called themselves the Beehive Girls, because of their beehive hairstyles. Their initial success came with the 1988 album Let It Bee, on which they recruited former members from ska band Madness to play guitar and drums.
