Don't Count Me Out Lyrics

I sat down to cry
I heard a friend of mine say "My, oh my
What you doin' down there, boy
With your nose stuck on the ground?"Hear me shout, don't count me outWhen the sun goes down
You'll find me sitting in a bar in the dark side of the town
And if you tell me that I drink too much
And that it's going to be the death of meHear me shout, don't count me outHear me shout, don't count me outYou say you know me well
But you've only seen the outside so brother, how can you tell?
I never listen to your advice
'Cause it changes every single dayHear me shout, don't count me outI sat down to cry
I heard a friend of mine say "My, oh my
What you doin' down there, boy
With your nose stuck on the ground?"Hear me shout, don't count me out

Gerald Rafferty (born April 16, 1947, in Paisley, UK and died 4 January 2011) was a Scottish singer and songwriter. In his early years, Gerry Rafferty earned money by the formerly illegal practice of busking on the London Underground. Poetically, his biggest hit "Baker Street" was about busking at a tube station. After working with Billy Connolly (now better known as a comedian) in a band known as The Humblebums, he recorded a first solo album, Can I Have My Money Back.
