Don't Get Around Much Anymore Lyrics

Missed the Saturday dance
Heard they crowded the floor
I couldn't bear it without you
Don't get around much anymoreThought I'd visit the club
Got as far as the door
Yes, they'd have asked me about you
Don't get around much anymoreYes darling, I guess my mind's more at ease
But nevertheless why stir up on memories
Been invited on dates
Might have gone but what for
Awfully different without you
Don't get around much anymoreYeah da di de
Heard they crowded the floor, baby
Don't get around much anymore, baby
I thought I'd visit the club
And got as far as the door
They'd have asked me about you
Don't get around much anymoreOh darling, I guess my mind's more at ease

Yes but nevertheless why stir up on memories
Been invited to dates
Might have gone but what for
Awfully different without you
Don't get around much anymore

American Freedom / The Great Summit / Together for the First Time is a 1961 jazz album (re released 2001) by jazz giants Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. They lead a small band playing classic compositions by Ellington such as 'Mood Indigo' and 'Black And Tan Fantasy' By 1961 jazz was falling out of favour with the general public but this shows two of the most important people in early jazz still able to produce amazing music year after they have fallen out of the spotlight.
