Don't Get Around Much Anymore Lyrics

Missed the Saturday dance
Heard they crowded the floor
Couldn't bear it without you
Don't get around much anymoreThough I'd visit the club
Got as far as the door
They'd have asked me about you
Don't get around much anymoreDarling, I guess my mind's more at ease
But nevertheless why stir up memories?Been invited on dates
Might have gone but what for?
Awf'lly diff'rent without you
Don't get around much anymore

Oscar Peterson (1925-2007) was a Canadian jazz pianist and composer. Born in Montreal, Canada, Peterson began learning trumpet and piano from his father at the age of five, but by the age of seven, after a bout of tuberculosis, he concentrated on the piano. Some of the artists who influenced Peterson during the early years were Teddy Wilson, Nat "King" Cole, James P. Johnson, and the legendary Art Tatum, to whom many have tried to compare Peterson in later years.
