Don't Leave Me Hanging Lyrics

You had different hair when I saw you last
You flew away, flew and you could have far
but you did fight, you went so many rounds
delivered one shot at a timedon't leave me hanging, don't leave me hanging
drowning in shallow water
don't leave me hanging, don't leave me hanging
to start it all over againthe forest you planted, the sparks where they landed
it's winter now, it's cold so [...] soon
your wings drying out, saying when hell freezes over
they're straightened out, just wait it outeven Sundays swimming where the current is slow through you mouth and the way you pronounce
the murmurs and babbling, wayward characters
one brush stroke at a timedon't leave me hanging, don't leave me hanging
drowning in shallow water
don't leave me hanging, don't leave me hanging
to start it all over againto start it all over again
start it all over again

Great Lake Swimmers is a Canadian indie folk band which formed in 2003 in Wainfleet, Ontario, Canada. The band began with Tony Dekker (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Erik Arneson (banjo, guitar, harmonium), Bret Higgens (bass), Julie Fader (keyboards, vocals) and Greg Millson (drums). Julie Fader subsequently left, and Miranda Mulholland, on violin and backing vocals, joined. Fifty-five years ago, Marilyn Bell took a plunge and traversed Lake Ontario. Back then, being a Great Lake swimmer was a big deal; now, it's an astonishing physical feat taken for granted.
