Don't Leave Poor Me Lyrics

Stop, Don't do it
Baby Don't walk out the door
I said Stop, Don't do it
Baby Don't walk out the door
If your going now
I won't be no good no moreDon't leave poor me
Don't leave poor me
I'm Beggin' on my knees
Don't leave poor me
Have mercy please
Have mercy please
I'm like a rat that wants his cheese
Don't leave poor me
If you go don't you know I'll follow you
And I won't be ashamed of myself
And you can bet your bottom dollar too
You can't have nobody elseI need you so
Lord knows I do

I need your good lovin' too
Don't leave poor meStop, Don't do it
Baby don't cha
I said Stop, Don't do it
Baby don't cha
If your going now
I
Don't leave poor me
Don't leave poor me
I'm Beggin' on my knees
Don't leave poor me
I'm in misery
Hooo ohhh
Don't leave poor me

Big Maybelle's (May 1, 1924 — January 23, 1972) mountainous stature matched the sheer soulful power of her massive vocal talent. Her deep, gravelly voice was as singular as her many hits for Okeh and Savoy, which ranged from down-in-the-alley blues to pop-slanted ballads. Originator of "Whole Lot Of Shakin' Going' On" and many other now-standards, her drug addiction caused various problems and led to her early death at the age of 47.
