Don't Let Me Down Lyrics

Every time I wake up on my own
I say a little prayer to bring you home
I know you won't
I know you won't
You won't let me down
Don't let me downNobody gonna sleept tonight
Nobody gonna see you if you hide
Nobody got second sight
Nobody gonna see the lightAll our hopes and all our dreams
And as the baby screams
Don't let me down
Don't let me downI know you won't
I know you won't
I know you won't
You won't let meEvery time I wake up on my own
I say a little prayer to bring you home
I know you won't
I know you won't

You won't let me dowmDon't let me downNo need to get so uptight
Nobody gonna start a fight tonight
It doesn't matter if we make it right
All that matters is we just turn out the lightSome little things make you understand
Some little things you never give a damnGo to sleep at three am
And as the baby screams
Don't let meI know you won't
I know you won't
I know you won't
You won't let meEvery time I wake up on my own
I say a little prayer to bring you home
I know you won't
I know you won't
You won't let me
You won't let me downAll I want is you to stay
So tell me why I act this way
Some little things that make you understand
Some little things you never give a damn
Some little things that I can never change
Some little things will never be the same for meEvery time I wake up on my own
I say a little prayer to bring you home
Every time I wake up on my own
I say a little prayer to bring you home

Eskimo Joe is alt-rock band from Fremantle, Western Australia comprising Kavyen Temperley (bass/vocals), Joel Quartermain (guitar/drums) and Stuart MacLeod (guitar)
The group initally formed to compete in the National Campus Band Competition in 1997. Temperley and Quartermain were already in a band at the time, Freud's Pillow, but had met with little success and asked Temperley's childhood friend MacLeod to form a new band, which became Eskimo Joe. The band ended up winning the competition prize: a slot at the 1997 Livid Festival and a session in a studio to record their first EP, Sweater.
