Don’t Run Lyrics

Fading moon is blocking the sun
Little shadows out on the runTell him there is nothing to find
But stoneDon't run
Cut it open
Sever it soft and slowly
Cut it open
Don't run
Two empty never means left lonelyAlready under already here
So why wait and see
No four-leaf clover's gonna save us
Gonna let us be
Breathe in the water
You can see it seeping right on through
No four-leaf clover's gonna save us
Gonna make us newHelp won't come
Say it's done
Breaking glass
We wait to walk

We wait to walkLose your grip before I lose mine
Paperback-love closing the blinds
Wear it like a hanger our skeletonDon't run
Cut it open
Sever it soft and slowly
Cut it open
Don't run
Two empty never means left lonelyDon't run
Cut it open
Sever it soft and slowly
Cut it open
Don't run
Two empty never means left lonelyI break
Till we walk
I break
Till we walk(Don't run
Cut it open
Sever it soft and slowly
Cut it open
Don't run
Two empty never means left lonely)

Don’t let the stage name confuse you: Mr. Little Jeans is actually a Ms., and she doesn’t wear denim all that often. Instead the budding pop star, born Monica Birkenes, took her pseudonym from a character in the movie Rushmore. “You know the Indian guy?” she asks. “The one who does all the Wes Anderson movies? It’s him—that’s his name in the film. He makes me smile every time.” Finding inspiration in Rushmore is apt considering the Norwegian singer’s own highly stylized sensibilities and quirky charm.
