Don't Say No (2011 Version) Lyrics

If only you were a ship
I'd sail the seven seas
Claiming all the land
In the name of you and me
We'd drift down the coast
In search of our new life
But all we'd find is gold
Just to misdirect our mindsDon't say no
Oh don't burn yourself alive
Won't you take one last breath
And hold on tight
And when the clouds come rolling in
To pour their summer tears
Upon your burning skin
I'll be waiting hereIf only I was a star
Sewn into the sky
Hanging from a thread
That keeps you awake at night

And when we would look up
The fog would cover me
Hiding all that we shared
And all that we could beDon't say no
Oh don't burn yourself alive
Won't you take one last breath
And hold on tight
And when the clouds come rolling in
To pour their summer tears
Upon your burning skin
I'll be waiting hereAnd I'll be waiting here
And I'll be standing here
Are you listening?Don't say no
Don't burn yourself alive
Won't you take one last breath
And hold on tight
And when the clouds come rolling in
To pour their summer tears
Upon your burning skin
I'll be waiting hereI'll be waiting here
And I'll be standing here
I hope you're listening
I hope you're listening

Formed in 2003 and previously known as 'And Then I Turned Seven', 'Jamestown Story' were a five piece acoustic, indie-rock band from Duluth, Minnesota. They had three releases together before 2008, by which time, each member had left the band to pursue other areas. The music lived on however, in the form of a solo acoustic project by frontman Dane Schmidt. Eventually, Dane was joined by Brandyn Anderson and that's how the line up has been since 2009.

Since the forming of Jamestown Story, the band has traveled to over 35 states, multiple countries and since 2011, has 10 releases under their belts,
