Don't Tempt Me Lyrics

Don't tempt me, baby
I got a good thing going at home
Too much to lose if I don't leave it alone
But don't tempt me, babyYou got my heart locked out of your mind
I found the key but I have run out of time
I'm trying to walk out of here walking the line
Don't tempt me, babyIn the mirror behind the bar I could see
That come on over look that you gave to me
But truly flattering I guarantee
But I'm as spoken for as you must be freeDon't tempt me, baby
I've got a ring around my finger you know
I should have headed home a long time ago
But don't tempt me, babyI made a promise it was well understood
Of what I couldn't do and what I could
I'm feeling weak and you're looking so good
Don't tempt me, babySay now big boy, don't you flatter yourself
That mirror must be showing you something else
You've been sitting here since two o'clock

And anyone can see you're stoned as a rockYou don't tempt me, baby
You got a good thing going at home
Too much to lose if I don't leave it alone
Don't tempt me, babyYou got my heart locked out of your mind
I found the key but I have run out of time
I'm walking out of here, walking the line
Don't tempt me, baby

Todd Daniel Snider is a singer-songwriter born October 11, 1966 in Portland, Oregon. Best known for his wry humor, Snider has been a fixture on the Americana, alt-country, and folk scene since his debut on MCA, entitled Songs for the Daily Planet, named for the bar where Snider used to play regularly in Memphis. On that album were the minor hits "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues", a folk song about the early '90's grunge scene, featuring a band that "refused to play", and "Alright Guy", which later became the title cut of Gary Allan's 2001 album.
