Don't Want to Be a Fool Lyrics

Love, what have you done, oh wow
I was sure up till now
That she was a friend
I stayed till the endI once believed that love was fair
But I don't anymore
She said, I'm a bore
My heart hit the floorEach time around I tell myself
"It's the game of love"
Ignore the signs and risk it all in the name of love
Well, I've decided I can't let nobody hurt me again
So I'll say it till the end I just don't wanna be a fool
Said, "I don't wanna be a fool ever again"Whenever a fool's in love
He doesn't know he's to blame
He's caught in the game
It all ends up the sameHe looks at love in a different way
It breaks his heart every time
They all turn estranged
But he'll never changeOh, next time around I'll tell myself

"It'll be better than before"
I won't look back, there'll be no one
Tearing my heart out anymore, my baby
I've just decided I can't let nobody fool me again
So I'll swear till the end I just don't wanna be a fool
Said, "I don't wanna be a fool ever again"I mean no more
Ooh, no never
Can't be, no way
No way, no way
Ooh, I don't want to be
I don't want to be a fool, noI can't love anybody walking on a one way street
If I don't find somebody that'll be alright with me
'Cause I decided not to let nobody kill me again
So I'll say it till the end, "I just don't wanna be a fool"
Said, "I don't wanna be a fool never, never again"Can't be a fool never again
Never, never, never again
Can't be a fool

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
