Don't You Think I Know Lyrics

Hello, starry eyes, it's just me
Shut all the blinds, so no one can see
I just wanted to talk to you, so nobody else could hear
Come on, baby, let me whisper in your earIt's getting late, I gotta catch a plane
God, I hope we make it thru the rain
I would settle for a long goodbye but it'll only make it harder
Someday soon you know we'll finish up where we startedAnd wrap your long, tan arms around me
Kiss me like you lost me and you found me
Hold me close, don't let me go
Don't you think I know?Hello, starry eyes, yeah, it's me
Pick up your line and talk to me
I made it here right on time, to get back into your heart
Someday soon you know we'll finish off where we startedAnd wrap your long, tan arms around me
Kiss me like you lost me and you found me
Hold me close, don't let me go
Don't you think I know?I just wanted to talk to you, so nobody else could hear
Come on, baby, let me whisper in your earAnd wrap your long, tan arms around me
Kiss me like you lost me and you found me

Hold me close, don't let me go
Don't you think I know? Don't you think I know?
Don't you think I know?

Material Issue was a power pop power trio from Chicago, Illinois. Their trademark was a brand of dense, rich, manic, and powerful pop tunes. Their lyrics revolved heavily around themes of love and heartbreak, having a phalanx of girl's-first-name-titled songs. Singles such as "Diane" and "Valerie Loves Me" remain staples of rock radio. Formed in 1985, Material Issue was the brainchild of frontman Jim Ellison (who also played guitar, provided lead vocals, and wrote all Material Issue songs). Their early days featured a revolving door of bass players and drummers.
