Down Colorful Hill Lyrics

Out of the box, down colorful hill
Out of the box, down colorful hillWinds lifting tired feet, skin sensing challenge ahead
Winds lifting tired feet, skin sensing challenge aheadPrayers, prayers for success
Prayers answered, prayers always die in timeLosing the dream, face to face sleeping
Losing the dream, open mouth breathingWhere unadmired beings, dread the due changes ahead
Where unadmired beings, dread the due changes aheadPrayers, prayers for success
Prayers, prayers always die in timePrayers for success
Prayers answered, prayers always die in timeLike empty roofs, like poor doves
PrayersLike empty roofs, like poor doves
PrayersLike empty roofs above, life for poor doves
Like empty roofs above, rid of all darknessLike empty roofs above, life for poor doves
Like empty roofs above, rid of all darknessLike empty roofs above, life for poor doves
Like empty roofs above, rid of all darkness

Red House Painters was the name of an alternative rock group formed in 1989 in San Francisco by singer/songwriter Mark Kozelek, who is currently active in the band Sun Kil Moon, with part of the original RHP line-up. The band is described, along with Low and American Music Club, as one of the linchpins of the slowcore movement in alternative rock. Kozelek used this group primarily as a vehicle for his very personal and emotional songs of despair, pain and suffering.
