Down On My Knees Lyrics

[Adlib]
Peace…
[Chorus]
It was, it was down on my knees
Where I found peace (2x)
[Verse 1]
It wasn’t supposed to be this way
I never thought that I would be
Here where I stand
Then I heard a voice speak to me
Tellin’ me I can make it
Oh, yes I can um hum…
[Bridge]
It doesn’t matter where you go

It doesn’t matter who you are
I know God’s in control
It doesn’t how they gonna sew
You may still feel there is only
One place to go, oh oh oh…
[Chorus]
[Verse 2]
I don’t know anyone
Who can say to the wind and waves
Peace be still
Oh…I have tried other things
Things that only fill me and now here I am
Down on my knees. Oh!
[Bridge]
[Chorus] (4x)
[Vamp]
(Adlib)
If you are looking for peace of mind
That’s where you’ll find it
Yeah hey…
[Chorus]
It was, it was down on my knees
It was, it was down on my knees
Where I found peace (2x)
Down on my knees. Oh!
[Bridge]
[Chorus] (4x)
[Vamp]
(Adlib)
If you are looking for peace of mind
That’s where you’ll find it
Yeah hey…
[Chorus]
It was, it was down on my knees
It was, it was down on my knees
Where I found peace (2x)

There are at least 2 artists who have recorded music under the monicker Virtue:
1. A New Wave of British Heavy Metal band from Oxford, United Kingdom, founded in 1981.
2. A female gospel group from New Orleans, founded in 1997.
1) Virtue (Oxford, UK) Virtue was a NWOBHM band formed in 1981. They released a 7" titled 'We Stand to Fight' in 1985 on Other Records. The 'Fool's Gold' demo was released independently by the band in 1987 on cassette tape when the originally planned vinyl EP failed to come to fruition due to financial issues and label complications.
