Down That Road Tonight Lyrics

Seems like lately we're losin' touch
Work too hard and worry too much
I think it's time for me and you
To get back to what we used to doWe'd steal away on a Saturday night
Meet in the field when the time was right
Just us two and a starry sky
It felt like paradiseI said, ooh, baby, goin' down that road tonight
It's gettin' too crazy, need to hold each other tight
Thinkin', ooh, maybe the moon stills shines as bright
Like it did back then, it'll shine again
Down that road tonightRemember all the songs that we used to know
Dancin' in the dark to the radio
Lost in the rhythm, kickin' up some heat
The memories are still so sweetTime's gone by but it's plain to see
I still love you and you still love me
Let's shake these troubles, put 'em all aside
C'mon, we're gonna take that rideI said, ooh, baby, goin' down that road tonight
Gettin' too crazy, need to hold each other tight

Thinkin', ooh, maybe the moon stills shines as bright
Like it did back then, it'll shine again
Down that road tonight, down that roadOoh, baby, goin' down that road tonight
It's gettin' too crazy, I need to hold you tight
Thinkin', ooh, maybe the moon stills shines as bright
Yes, it did back then, we'll make it shine again
Down that road tonightOoh, baby, goin' down that road tonight
It's gettin' too crazy, I need to hold you tight
Thinkin', ooh, maybe the moon stills shines as bright
Yes, it did back then

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American country-folk-rock band that has existed in various forms since its founding in Long Beach, California in 1966. The group's membership has had at least a dozen changes over the years, including a period from 1976 to 1981 when the band performed and recorded as The Dirt Band. Constant members since the early times are singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna and drummer Jimmie Fadden. Multi-instrumentalist John McEuen was with the band from 1966 to 1986 and returned during 2001. Keyboardist Bob Carpenter joined the band in 1977. The band is often cited as instrumental to the progression of contemporary country and roots music.
