Drive Away Lyrics

Pack your bags, it's time to go
The clock down town runs way to slow
Daddy say's, "I'll have to wait"
But all we got to do is drive awayDrive away you and me
We'll blow this town and we'll find our dream
"Where we'll stop?" It's hard to say
We'll leave a trail smokin' when we drive away
We'll leave a trail smokin' when we drive awayWith me the lead and you the star
We're way out front in a faster car
Like two dots fading on a silver screen
The credits rolling as we leaveDrive away you and me
We'll blow this town and we'll find our dream
"Where we'll stop?" It's hard to say
We'll leave a trail smokin' when we drive away
We'll leave a trail smokin' when we drive awayCall ahead and tell 'em that we're comin'
We'll keep the motor runnin' from now onDrive away you and me
We'll blow this town and we'll find our dream
"Where we'll stop?" It's hard to say

We'll leave a trail smokin' when we drive away
We'll leave a trail smokin' when we drive away

Sawyer Brown is a country music band formed in 1981 at a Pizza Hut restaurant in Apopka, Florida. Lead singer Mark Miller asked keyboardist Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard to play piano for a couple of songs he had written. The two left for Nashville, Tennessee, where they met up with Florida drummer Joe Smyth, Michigan bass player Jim Scholten and original lead guitarist Bobby Randall. They first called the band "Savanah", but renamed themselves "Sawyer Brown" after Sawyer Brown Road, the street where they rehearsed.
