Driving In Cars With Boys (2nd Version) Lyrics

They say I'm wasting time, they said that I'm no good
Summer of my life, not doing what I should
Call me poison ivy 'cause I'm far from good
Pretty from afar, like a dark starThey think I'm dangerous, they think I'm really bad,
I'm just making up for what I never had
Go out every night whenever I feel sad
Oh, this drive by love got me crazy like a drug[Version 1:]
I wear my red lipstick, got my make-up on
Stumble into trouble, siren with a sad song
They all got girlfriends but I'm the one that they want
Miss America with the blue mascara on[Version 2:]
I wear my red lipstick, got my make-up on
I'm miss America, now I'm gone, baby, goneI spend my whole life driving in cars with boys
Riding around town, drinking in the white noise
Used to talk about where we be and where we go
Now we know, baby, now we know
I spent my whole life wasted in bars with boys
Playing rock'n'roll dancing in the loud noise

Used to talk about where we'd be and where we go
Now we know, baby, now we knowMommy's Mercedes or Billy's pick up truck
Comes out late at night and baby picks me up
Tell him just drive on and d-don't ever stop
Don't take me home again, take me to a new land[Version 1:]
I wear my red lipstick, grab my coat and gun
Wonder if this is it, it's darkest before dawn
Sometimes I wanna give in but I just have to go on
Miss America now I'm gone, baby, gone.[Version 2:]
I wear my red lipstick, got my coat and gun
I'm miss America, now I'm gone, baby, goneI spent my whole life driving in cars with boys,
Riding 'round town drinking in the white noise
Used to talk about where we be and where we go.
Now we know, baby, now we know
I spent my whole life wasted in bars with boys
Playing rock'n'roll dancing in the loud noise
Used to talk about where we be and where we go.
Now we know, baby, now we knowI was born to live fast, die young
Leave a beautiful corpse, live my life on the run
I got my cash, my Louis Vuitton, diamonds and guns
Girls just wanna, just wanna have funI spent my whole life driving in cars with boys,
Riding 'round town drinking in the white noise
Used to talk about where we be and where we go.I spent my whole life driving in cars with boys,
Riding 'round town drinking in the white noise
Used to talk about where we be and where we go.
Now we know, baby, now we know
Spent my whole life wasted in bars with boys
Playing rock'n'roll dancing in the loud noise
Used to talk about where we be and where we go.
Now we know, baby, now we know

Elizabeth "Lizzy" Grant (born 21 June 1986), better known as Lana Del Rey, is a singer-songwriter from Lake Placid, New York, United States. Del Rey is known for embellishing her songs and music videos with an eerily nostalgic vibe heavy on Americana themes, including images of surfing, Coney Island, Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe. She has also listed a large number of her artistic influences, including Allen Ginsberg, Elvis Presley, Britney Spears, Nina Simone, Nirvana, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, Antony and the Johnsons, actor and filmmaker John Waters, artists Mark Ryden and Marilyn Minter, and photographers Juergen Teller and Philip-Lorca diCorcia.

Grant released her first professionally produced body of work in 2010, an EP entitled Kill Kill, as Lizzy Grant via Five Points Records with producer David Kahne. It was available for purchase on iTunes for a brief period before being withdrawn for unknown reasons. Soon after, Del Rey released a self-titled collection of songs, Lana Del Rey, for electronic download.

In June 2011, Del Rey was signed with Stranger Records and issued the “Video Games” single, and in October 2011 she signed with Interscope Records. Her next album, Born to Die, is set to be released worldwide on 31 January 2012 under Interscope. The second single and title track, "Born to Die," is set for release on 22 January 2012.
