East Coast Girl Lyrics

Yeah everything's going pretty par for the course
Got back problems, grey hair, craving a Porsche
If you make it this far without killing yourself
You got it made though
Got a little place in Venice next to a lady with nine cats
Walk up Abbott Kinney watching business collapse
It all reminds me when you moved here from New York in '88
YeahSo Johnnie tell me that you're alright
I wanna cover you up tonight
Give me one more chance to show you something real
You can run but you can't hide
It's a cruel, cruel summer outside
Shine on little baby, you're too good for this world
Just another broken east coast girlThere's a guy on Lincoln Boulevard where I get my medication
I wake up after three hours and I fall asleep, mid-conversation
I'm pretty sure it's a habit
But I'll talk myself out of that one too, you know
You were always good at talking us out of trouble with the cops

Made everybody feel good about the fact that they were not
I just wish I could go back in time and find that perfect moment for youSo Johnnie tell me that you're alright
I wanna cover you up tonight
Give me one more chance to show you something real
You can run but you can't hide
It's a cruel, cruel summer outside
Shine on little baby, you're too good for this world
Just another broken east coast girlBaby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you now?
Baby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you now?So Johnnie tell me that you're alright
I wanna cover you up tonight
Give me one more chance to show you something real
You can run but you can't hide
It's a cruel, cruel summer outside
Shine on little baby, you're too good for this world
Just another broken east coast girlBaby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you now?
Baby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you?
Baby, baby, baby where are you now?

Butch Walker (born Bradley Glenn Walker on November 14, 1969) is a recording artist, songwriter, and record producer.

Walker grew up in Cartersville, Georgia and stood out as a guitarist and performer in several rock bands in the '80s including Bad Boyz and Byte the Bullet. In 1988, he took Byte the Bullet to LA and they were signed to Virgin Records within the year. The band changed names to Southgang and released two albums, Tainted Angel in 1991 and Group Therapy in 1992. Southgang was one of the first bands to tour China in the early '90s.

Afterwards, Butch took over lead vocals and with ex-SouthGang members Jayce Fincher and Mitch McLee formed several bands in the 90s including Floyds Funk Revival, The Floyds, and the popular pop-rock band Marvelous 3. After the break-up of the band in early 2000, Butch then began a solo career, releasing the albums Left of Self-Centered in 2002 and Letters in 2004, finishing 2005 playing over 200 live shows across both the US and Japan. In 2006 he released an album called "Butch Walker and the Let's Go Out Tonities".
