Eight Letters Lyrics

We became the parade on the streets that we once cleaned
Expendable soldiers smiling at anything
Raised on a feeling our lives would have meaning eventuallyWe were once the answer and then you discover
You're actually just one thing after another
And what was the question and why was the lesson so deafening? This is all that matters now
And that was all that happened anyhow
You can look back but don't stare
Maybe I can love you out of thereAnd when I went away what I forgot to say
Was all I had to say:
Eight letters, three words, one meaningAnd outside forces didn't make it easy
So I thought I'd go before you leave me
Self-preservation was no explanation for anything
But the truth is more than we'll ever comprehend
I'm just starting to understand, my friend
All of that distance, 'cause I fell in love with the enemyThis is all that matters now
And that was all that happened anyhow
You can look back but don't stare
Maybe I can love you out of thereAnd when I went away what I forgot to say

Was all I had to say:
Eight letters, three words, one meaningAnd when I went away what I forgot to say
Was all I had to say:
Eight letters, three words, one meaningAt last, we meet on no man's land
Just footprints in the sand
We meet on no man's land, at last
And when I went away what I forgot to say
Was all I had to say:
Eight letters, three words, one meaningAnd when I went away what I forgot to say
Was all I had to say:
Eight letters, three words, one meaningOne meaning
Just one meaning

Robert Peter Williams (born 13 February 1974, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire) is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. While Williams' early pop career started with the hit boy band Take That, he has found far greater success since taking his leave in 1995. Williams has sold over 70 million records worldwide, which ranks him among the best-selling music artists worldwide. He is the best-selling British solo artist in the United Kingdom and the best selling non-Latino artist in Latin America.

Six of his albums are among the top 100 biggest-selling albums in the United Kingdom. He has also been honoured with seventeen BRIT Awards—more than any other artist—and seven ECHO Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted as the "Greatest Artist of the 1990s."

The Candy Songfacts reports that Williams teamed up with his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, to write the first single from his ninth studio album, Take The Crown. "Candy" will be released October 29, 2012.
