Eighteen Wheels Lyrics

Eighteen Wheels
When I put eighteen wheels on the highway this time
I ain't never coming back to you again
I can't believe you told me
You don't love me anymore
Cause I stay out on the road to much to care
Ain't I gotta make a living
At the only thing I know
Keep paying the bills and buying the clothes you wear
If you think that you'd be better off
With someone else besides you
Pack your bags and head on out the door
Cause when I service up my rig
And I find out where I'm going
I don't think I wanna see you anymore

Chorus
When I put eighteen wheels on the highway
And the freight yard fades out of sight
I'll put you farther from my mind
With each grinding of the gears
I'll be holding someone else tomorrow night
There's a pretty little girl down in Monroe
Who'll meet me at the docks when I get in
When I put eighteen wheels on the highway this time
I ain't never coming back to again
All I ever wanted when I came in off the road
Was a few kind words to make me feel at home
And a hug from all the children when I walk inside the door
To let me know they miss me while I'm gone
But you never once was faithful and I've known you for so long
It's a different road we're traveling, you and I
Don't you try to fool me with your tears
Crying don't become you
There ain't nothing left to do but say goodbye
Chorus

Don Parmley and Randy Graham's partnership had preceded the official start of the band by seven years when they started a musical friendship after the demise of Parmley's previous group, the Hillmen (whose leader...
