El Salvador (The Saviour) Lyrics

Wrestled with the things I saw, steppin' through the door
Knowin' things won't be the same when I get back on the planeI look into your eyes and I feel like I know you
So far removed, our lives but so close inside, let our worlds collideEl Salvador, El Salvador, You'll never know what You have done
You'll never know what has begun, You left Your mark on me
You left Your mark on meWrestled with the things I saw, steppin' through the door
These circumstances are beyond Your control
I see Your hands, they touch my soul
Oh, this memory I'll always holdEl Salvador, El Salvador, You'll never know what You have done
You'll never know what has begunI know more now than I have ever, ever known before
I learned more in one day than I have learned all years before
Don't let my heart grow cold for this I've seen
And You have shown me beyond this space, this timeDon't let my heart grow cold for this I've seen and You have shown
Beyond this space, beyond this time, we must let our worlds collideEl Salvador, El Salvador, You'll never know what You have done
You'll never know what has begun, El Salvador, El Salvador
You left Your mark on me, You left Your mark on me
El Salvador, El Salvador, You left Your mark on me, El Salvador

Philip Joel (Urry) is a musician known as a solo artist in addition to being the bassist for Newsboys. He uses the name Phil Joel professionally due to pronunciation issues with his surname. Phil was born in Auckland, New Zealand and was adopted at birth. He left school to become a hairdresser. In his free time, he was lead singer and guitarist in the band Drinkwater. Though he had little experience with the instrument, Newsboys offered him a position as bassist in 1995. He said at the time, "I already know how to play a guitar with six strings, four should be a cinch.
