Elvis & Me Lyrics

When you walked by I saw a small tear in your eye
Lifted you up and threw you into the sun
When you returned, you were a little burned
But you learned the secret of it allAnd you thought that you would burn
But that'd be too easy
It was only the end of the beginning
Cause now it can be Elvis and meI thought you knew what it was that I had to do
Never occurred that you would just roll over
I had to go, not very long though you know
Guess for you it was an eternityAnd if you think you've got it now
Go start your crying
It's gonna be different when I'm home
Cause it's gonna be Elvis and me
It's just Elvis and me
It's gonna be Elvis and me
Just Elvis and me
Just Elvis and meAnd if you think you've got it now
Go start your crying

It's gonna be different when I'm home
Cause it's gonna be Elvis and meI wish I could fix it so that you understood
If I cracked my head it would bleed like mercury
The pieces of the poison raining above
Won't touch you now
I'll never let it againSo if you think you've got it now
Continue your crying
It's gonna be different when I'm home
Cause it's gonna be Elvis and me
It's just Elvis and me
It's always been Elvis and me
Just Elvis and me

Dance Hall Crashers came into existence after Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman disbanded from the legendary ska-punk band Operation Ivy. Both departed soon after the Crashers' formation (and later reunited in Rancid), leaving vocalist Elyse Rogers and guitarist Jason Hammon to lead the band.
The Dance Hall Crashers recorded a few songs during their first year (these are featured on The Old Record), and in 1990, they made their most notable lineup change, adding second vocalist Karina Denike.
