Enemies Lyrics

It must have been maybe it was
I don't remember when
When I fell for myself
I fell off the chair
That sat me next to youCould I take all the love
That I have for myself
Could I give it all to you
Can I kill the big monster
That lives down inside
Can we throw all the history asideIt's not easy to pretend
That we're not
Enemies sometimes
But it pleases me defending
All the memories tonightIt may have been a bit hopeless
But something honest
Went down that night
I lifted my head for
Just long enough to see

What I'd never seen in my lifeCould I take all the love
That I had for myself
Did anything make it through
And it kills not to know
What goes on in your mind
Can you throw all the history asideIt's not easy to pretend
That we're not
Enemies sometimes
But it pleases me defending
All the memories tonight

* Gregg Miller The genesis of Dogstar was a chance encounter between Reeves and Mailhouse in a supermarket in 1991; Mailhouse was wearing a Detroit Red Wings hockey sweater, and Reeves (an avid hockey fan and a keen player of the sport) asked if Mailhouse needed a goalie. Their shared interest in the sport developed into a friendship. Initially, they began jamming together in private. The band went through several lineups before Domrose joined in 1994. .
