Engine Driver Lyrics

When I grow up I want to be an engine driver.
I'll build up my own head of steam, 25 horsepower.Old hands, new power,
More miles per hour
Strange light in the ancient mills.
New sights, old eyes,
Giant leaps under small skies
A sense of death in the hills. But when I pull off, I don't want to follow timetables or tracks.
I will cut new paths through topsoil and tarmac.Old hands, new power,
More miles per hour
Strange light in the ancient mills.
New sights, old eyes,
Giant leaps under small skies
A sense of death in the hills.

Million Dead were a London-based punk band that formed back in late 2000 through out of work associations, mutual friends and in the case of vocalist Frank Turner and drummer Ben Dawson from their previous band Kneejerk and ended after a farewell UK tour in September 2005. The combination of original guitarist Cameron Dean's diverse and intricate guitar riffs along with the powerhouse combination of Julia Ruzicka's bass lines were the perfect backdrop to Turner's often upfront and outspoken views on UK politics and society as a whole.
