Ernestine (w/ Matthew Skoller on harmonica) Lyrics

Ernestine, you'd better leave my man alone
Ernestine, because of you I can't go on
I told you for the last time to find you a man of you ownErnestine, what you doing, you know it ain't right
Ernestine, when you play, it make me wanna fight
Girl, you playin' with danger and girl, this might take, it mightI warned you once, girl, without a doubt
Two strikes you lose, third strike you're out
Like a baseball game, you're dancin' with a slugger
I hit a grand slam 'cause I'm a bad [Incomprehensible]Ernestine, you'd better leave my man alone
I told you for the last time to find you a man of your ownErnestine, you playin' with fire, you know you'll burn
Ernestine, I know where you come from
You refuse to listen but you ain't in the right school to learnI warned you once, girl, without a doubt
Two strikes you lose and third strike you're out
Like a baseball game, you're dancin' with a slugger
I hit a grand slam 'cause I'm a bad [Incomprehensible]Ernestine, you'd better leave my man alone
I told you for the last time to find you a man of your own

Koko Taylor (September 28, 1928 - June 3, 2009) was an American blues musician, popularly known as the "Queen of the Blues." She was known primarily for her rough and powerful vocals and traditional blues stylings. Taylor was born as Cora Walton on a farm just outside Memphis, Tennessee. In 1954, Taylor left Memphis for Chicago with her husband, truck driver Robert "Pops" Taylor. In the late 1950s she began singing in Chicago blues clubs and was spotted by Willie Dixon in 1962, leading to wider performances and her first recording contract.
