Escalator Lyrics

I take back everything I said about the modern technology
I met her on the escalator and that's good enough for me.It happened in department store where everything is to be found
Well I was going down from first and she was coming up from ground
While stationary moving by
She passed before my eyes
I could not help but turn around
And then before I knew what happened
I was looking up and she was smiling down theEscalator. From there the whole thing escalated to the fourth floor coffee shop
We talked about the price of things and oh I hoped it would not stop
And then she said she had to go
And oh I did not know if we would ever meet again
But as the escalator slowly took her out of sight she said
"Tomorrow then", . . and then . .I take back everything I said about the modern technology
I met her on the escalator and that's good enough for me.Escalator, escalator.
Escalator, escalator.

Enjoy the lyrics !!!

Clifford Thomas Ward - Born 10 February 1944, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire — 18 December 2001 Clifford T. Ward typified the early 70s bedsitter singer-songwriter with a series of albums that were at best delightful and at worst mawkish. Ward left grammar school before A-levels to work as a clerk, but by 1962 was fronting local beat group Cliff Ward and the Cruisers. The group changed their name to Martin Raynor and the Secrets and made their recording debut for EMI Records in 1965, before recording several more tracks as the Secrets for CBS Records.
