Evangeline Lyrics

I used to be a big star, depending on who you ask
Made a million friends in minutes, but the minutes didn't last
The melody escapes me, your brightness all around
You're the reason that the light is faster than the speed of soundWith everything we have in mind for you
It's most important that you findThat 'use to be's' mean nothing and 'gonna be's' are fine
Bt you always were and always will be our EvangelineNow, go on be a big star, hit 'em hard and fast
Just make sure the answers don't depend on who you ask
'Cause they might tell you some things, they might leave you alone
Just don't listen if they tell you 'You can never go back home'When everything is said and done, the beauty is the best is yet to comeAnd 'use to be's' mean nothing and 'gonna be's' are fine
But you always were and always will be our EvangelineSlips and falls and fingers burned
Treat them all as lessons learned
Relationships might end in flames
But the chance to love is worth the painAnd 'use to be's' mean nothing and 'gonna be's' are fine
But you always were and always will be our Evangeline
'Cause 'use to be's' mean nothing and 'gonna be's' are fine
But you always were and always will be our EvangelineSlips and falls and fingers burned
Treat them all as lessons learned
Relationships might end in flames

But the chance to love is worth the painAnd whether weak or being tough
Being good is good enough
'Cause being good is all you can do
But sometimes bad is okay too

Brian Vander Ark combines a smooth acoustic guitar with his inspiring lyrics to produce a sound that is highly unique. Though his solo career will always be overshadowed by his success with The Verve Pipe, his new style can't be measured under the same standards. His new goal in music is not to make millions. Vander Ark is now all about the music, as seen in Written and Erased (LP Version) from his first solo album, 2004's Resurrection. His wife Lux Land, also a talented musician, provides inspiration for many of his lyrics as well as back-up vocals.
