Evening Blue Lyrics

Sitting all alone by the fireside
Listen to the wind in the chimney top
Haven't slept for days and I'm still wide eyedTry not to think, but my mind won't stop
Evening shadows making my heart sing out
With the setting sun turning leaves to brown, yeahIf I had a lover who's heart was true
I wouldn't be alone in this evening blueEverybody's looking for something in life
Not everyone finds what they're looking for
Everybody wants a little happiness in lifeBut everyone can open the door
Morning wakens, making my heart sing out
Now that summer's here, changing fears and doubtsIf I had a lover who's heart was true
I wouldn't be alone in this evening blueWith the setting sun turning leaves to brown
If I had a lover who's heart was true
I wouldn't be alone in this evening blueSitting all alone by the fireside
Listen to the wind in the chimney top
Haven't slept for days and I'm still wide eyed, yeahTry not to think, but my mind won't stop
Evening shadows making my heart sing out
With the setting sun turning leaves to brownIf I had a lover who's heart was true
I wouldn't be alone in this evening blue

Traffic were an English rock band. Traffic started out with Steve Winwood, Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi, and Chris Wood after Winwood left The Spencer Davis Group. From their beginning, in 1967, they were quite popular in their native England, though success elsewhere was slower in coming. Their first three albums combined psychedelic rock and soul with elements of British folk music, giving them a unique, groundbreaking sound. Their most popular single was Dear Mr. Fantasy, from the album of the same name.
