Every Flashlight May Blind You Lyrics

On the mountains
in the valleys
they're all looking for a love
At the harbours
at the stations
they're all waiting for a loveAs plain as it sounds
I only find it
right here at home
where my family is
Honestly, I believe
there is nothing out there better for me
If bewildered
out of focus
when trying to keep sharp
every flashlight
may blind you
if triggered in the darkIt's a false sentiment
prompted by someone

who's never heard a lament
or seen a happy end
But I know how it feels
to take hold of something palpable and real
like the fresh fruit of autumn
like the green grass in spring
or like the snow
that always seem to come
just when you thought
that winter was finally gone
As plain as it sounds
I have all I need now
right here at home
where my family is
Honestly, I believe
there is nothing out there better for me

Norwegian singer/songwriter Børge Sildnes started making music under the pseudonym Dylan Mondegreen in 2005, developing a sound that approached his airy songs from perspectives of both indie rock lilt and '70s soft rock haziness. His debut album, While I Walk You Home, was released in September 2007. The album was well received both critically and in terms of sales, drawing comparisons to Jens Lekman, Prefab Sprout, and other indie troubadours from several eras. The record's warm reception expanded his audience and paved the way for festival appearances and even a tour of Japan.
