Ezekiel Saw the Wheel Lyrics

Oh, Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'
Way up in the middle of the air
Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airWell, the big wheel run-a by faith, my lord
And the little wheel run by the grace of God
A wheel in a wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airNow, Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-turnin'
Way up in the middle of the air
Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airNow, the big wheel run-a by faith, my Lord
And the little wheel run by the grace of God
A wheel in a wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airNow, there's a star in the East and a star in the West
Way in the middle of the air
I wish that star was in my breast
Way in the middle of the airOh, Ezekiel saw the wheel
Way up in the middle of the air
Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'

Way in the middle of the airWell, the big wheel run by faith, my Lord
And the little wheel run by the grace of God
A wheel in a wheel
Way in the middle of the airNow, one of these mornings, bright and fair
Way in the middle of the air
I'm gonna take my wings and plead the air
Way in the middle of the airOh well, Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'
Way up in the middle of the air
Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airOh, the big wheel run-a by faith, my Lord
And the little wheel run by the grace of God
A wheel in a wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airNow, I'll a-tell you one thing you can do
Way in the middle of the air
You serve the Lord and the Devil, too
Way in the middle of the airOh, Satan wears a number 11 shoe
Way in the middle of the air
If you don't mind now, he'll put it on you
Way in the middle of the airOh well, Ezekiel saw the wheel
Way up in the middle of the air
Ezekiel saw the wheel, a-rollin'
Way in the middle of the airThe big wheel run by faith, my Lord
And the little wheel run by the grace of God
A wheel in a wheel
Way in the middle of the air

Louis Armstrong (1901-1971) was a trumpet player, singer, and bandleader, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists in the history of jazz. Armstrong was born and brought up in New Orleans, a culturally diverse town with a unique musical mix of creole, ragtime, marching bands, and blues. Although from an early age he was able to play music professionally, he didn't travel far from New Orleans until 1922, when he went to Chicago to join his mentor, King Oliver.
