Fade Away Lyrics

i stand in front of you at the electric arcade
that's where i buy blueberries so i can survive the day
in the store it's so bright the isle so wide guaranteed
but all the people are pushing and shoving and i wonder if they're okwith the sun on our backs we will never get cold
with a little light in our eyes it's alright to get old
whatever your story might say and however it's told
let it go let it go let it fade awaythen you ask me to, couldn't we both run away
past the shopping malls the graveyards where the cuts spend their days
but there's no wrong there's not right at least not tonight clemency
sometimes a great notion emotion as we make our escapewith the sun on our backs we will never get cold
with a little light in our eyes it's alright to get old
whatever your story might say and however it's told
we run through the fields and sets in the gold
with the sun on our backs we will never get cold
with a little light in our eyes it's alright to get old
whatever your story might say and however it's told

The Cave Singers is an American folk trio from Seattle, Washington. Their music is folk for a rainy day: surprising, yet cozy, sparse, yet harmonious, pleasing yet torturous. Rising from the ashes of Pretty Girls Make Graves after its disbandment in 2007, former PGMG-member Derek Fudesco teamed up with Pete Quirk (of Hint Hint) and Marty Lund (of Cobra High) and began playing in the Seattle area. Soon after the band's conception, The Cave Singers signed with Matador Records on June 11, 2007.
