Fake Lyrics

Your name was Patty but now it's Kay
Girl, you seem to change it everyday
Your hair was long but now it's short
You say, "I got it cut"
But I don't see no hair upon the floorWhenever I go out with you
I find out something newYou're a fake, baby, you can't conceal it
Know how I know 'cause I can feel it
You're a fake, baby, no rhyme or reason
'Cause in your mind it's lyin' seasonYou had brown eyes but now they're blue
Those false eyelashes that you're wearin' too, yeah
In bed this morning you called me Clyde
Alex is the name that I go by, ohIf women could be counterfeit
Then you'd be itYou're a fake, baby, you can't conceal it
Know how I know 'cause I can feel it
You're a fake, baby, I've blown your cover
The jig is up 'cause I discoveredYou're a fake, baby, no need to hide it
Can't change my mind 'cause I've decided
You're a fake, baby and I'm disgusted

The game is through and girl, you're busted, fakeWhenever I go out with you
(Whenever I go out with you)
I find out something newYou're a fake, you always have a good excuse
(You always have a good excuse)
But, girl that ain't no useYou're a fake, baby, you can't conceal it
Know how I know 'cause I can feel it
You're a fake, baby, no rhyme or reason
'Cause in your mind it's lyin' season
You're a fake, babyFake
Fake
Fake

Alexander O'Neal (born November 14, 1953, in Natchez, Mississippi), was a member of The Time when the group first formed in 1980. However, he was dropped immediately from the group, supposedly for seeming "too black". Three years later, he was able to get a record deal with Clearance Avant's Tabu Records As his vocals range in the same strength as Otis Redding's, O'Neal sings in the retro-style of soul when it comes to doing it in both the dance-pop numbers and modern, urban ballads.
