Farther On Down the Road Lyrics

Further on down the road babe, you will accompany me
Further on down the road babe, you will accompany meWhen I think back, your love was like the sun
And I don't remember no cold days, now, I just remember the warm warm sun
Further on down the road baby, you will accompany meIf we're fools alike then a happier fool I'll never be
But baby, I'd be glad to learn from you
And darlin', I know you'd be glad to learn from meAnd if we get down and things get sad
We can chear up each other and think that
Things just ain't that bad, babe
If we're fools alike then a happier fool I'll never beDay by day, just one step, just one step at a time
'Cause woman you have given me so much
Just to ease this stubborn old achin'heart of mineI don't know where they came from and I don't care what they might say
Woman, you be loving in my corner, oh, oh, oh, all the way
Day by day, and the magic of kindness floating all the timeFurther on down the road, baby, you will accompany me
Oh, I'm hoping
Further on down the road, baby, you will accompany me
Ohh baby, can't you hear me prayin'When I look back, your love was like the sun
And I don't remember any cold days, I just remember the warm, warm sun
Further on down the road, baby, you will accompany meOoh babe, oh babe, oh babe

Oh babe, ooh babe, oh babe, oh babe
Ooh babe, oh darlin', oh babe, oh darlin'
Oh babe, oh darlin', [Incomprehensible]

Taj Mahal (born Henry Saint Clair Fredericks in New York City on May 17, 1942) is an American Grammy Award-winning blues musician who incorporates elements of world music into his music. A self-taught singer-songwriter and film composer who plays the guitar, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments), Mahal has done much to reshape the definition and scope of blues music over the course of his 50 year career by fusing it with non-traditional forms, including sounds from the Caribbean, Africa and the South Pacific.
