Fast Sinking Lyrics

Sue, you've been drinkin'
Or you wouldn't say the things you say
Drinkin' again, it never was your way.Maybe I'm old fashioned
And maybe I've lost some of my shine
But as to your drinkin', galivantin', I draw the line.I remember when butter wouldn't melt in your mouth
But your sweet smile changed its style.Sue, you've been drinkin'
And you're not the girl I knew
Drinkin', and it's really not amusin'.INSTRUMENTALI remember when butter wouldn't melt in your mouth
But your sweet smile changed its style.Sue, drinkin'
And I think we know our love is through
Fast sinkin', there's not a lot we can do.

Clifford Thomas Ward - Born 10 February 1944, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire — 18 December 2001 Clifford T. Ward typified the early 70s bedsitter singer-songwriter with a series of albums that were at best delightful and at worst mawkish. Ward left grammar school before A-levels to work as a clerk, but by 1962 was fronting local beat group Cliff Ward and the Cruisers. The group changed their name to Martin Raynor and the Secrets and made their recording debut for EMI Records in 1965, before recording several more tracks as the Secrets for CBS Records.
