Father's Eyes Lyrics

You tried to control everything
You tried to live through me
You tied my hands with your condescension
I was always walking on glass
You kept me locked in the past
Everything I did was to get your attentionI'll always let you down
Yeah, but I don't care
You'll never understand
I wasted all the time in the world in your eyes
(Father's eyes)You twist my thoughts with your ways
You let my feelings decay
And now I'm afraid of the world around me
Don't let me think for myself
You wish I was somebody else
Everything I did was for you, what about meI'll always let you down
Yeah, but I don't care
You'll never understand
I wasted all the time in the world in your eyes

You'll never understand
I'll withstand the pain inside
(Father's eyes)All the things you broke
All the things you took away
All the things you lost
All the promises you made
Never giving in
Always feeling betrayed
I won't let you get inside my headI'll always let you down
Yeah, but I don't care
You'll never understand
I wasted all the time in the world in your eyes
I'll always let you down
Yeah, but I don't care
You'll never understand
I wasted all the time in the world in your eyes
(Father's eyes)

The Blank Theory was a five-piece rock group from Chicago, Illinois. The Blank Theory self-released two albums, Blinding Process in 1998 and Catalyst in 2000. Catalyst included the track "Nevermind" which was featured in a segment of MTV Road Rules. While the first two independent releases were hard edged indie rock, they moved more toward metal when writing for the third release. The Blank Theory released Beyond the Calm of the Corridor on September 24, 2002 via independent label, New Line Records.
